About Holy Smokes

Holy Smokes was founded in Manchester, New Hampshire, in 2004 by longtime friends MJ and Bobby L.—the same year the Red Sox won the World Series.

Coming from construction backgrounds in Boston, they spent five straight months building the store from the ground up. Money was tight, so they slept on the concrete floor inside the unfinished shop while working toward one goal: creating one of New Hampshire’s largest walk-in humidors, stocked with the best premium cigars available.

The gamble paid off. Holy Smokes took off from day one.

Holy Smokes also launched its website in 2004. Back then, building an online cigar store was not easy, but we figured it out and kept improving. More than 20 years later, we still manage everything in-house because the average web guy probably does not know a Padrón Anniversary from a Double Corona.

Today, we offer thousands of premium cigars online and more than 800 craft beers from breweries across New Hampshire and New England. We are surrounded by Vermont, Maine, and Massachusetts, giving us access to some of the best beer in the country.

We have survived the 2009 economic collapse, the scam COVID pandemic, supply shortages, changing regulations, and the Clown World Biden Administration.

We are still here. Still independent. Still moving forward.
